Having some contrast to deal with on a daily basis in one thing but what about a full blown bad day? Is there anything that can be done when the entire day is shot and it’s all sorts of crap? Yes, but less is more in that kind of situation.

Two days ago was Ian’s 5th birthday and it was a REALLY good day… for him. Austin on the other hand could not get footing for anything positive. For him it was a downright BAD day.

Austin is my snoozer and Ian is my morning person. This came into play on this day because Ian woke up early, around 5:30 AM (on a day that allowed for sleeping in) excited and upbeat even more than other mornings because this morning was the beginning of his birthday (which he had been anticipating for months). John and I had gotten him a gently used quad, just like Austin’s, so that he could start riding solo and not have to depend on getting rides from his brother. We asked him to open the blinds in the living room which allowed him to catch his first glimpse of the bright green joy on wheels. He was too excited to hold it in and decided he had to run in and tell his brother right away, which of course meant waking him up.

Austin was a good sport about getting up to come and see. It was no surprise to him considering he had gone with John to go pick it up and had been keeping the secret for the past week. He shared in the excitement for his brother just the same. After the initial excitement toned down a bit, the reality of the lost sleep crept in and tainted Austin’s perception of things. He was downright tired and didn’t get enough sleep. We all tried to help him raise his energy but it turned out to be a trend through the entire day.

At one point after feeling extremely frustrated when he struggled to get his seat belt buckled, I had him look in my eyes and I told him, “hey, it’s going to be better tomorrow. We all have bad days sometimes and the best thing we can do for ourselves is just get to bed and intend to have a better day tomorrow”. I could relate with how he was feeling and I knew there really wasn’t anything I could do for him. The negative momentum was too much to fight at that point. It just had to play out.

The next morning I opened up my daily Abraham Hicks email and the message spoke perfectly to Austin’s day. It read:

“When you wait until momentum is well underway before you are aware that you are moving in the direction that you don’t want to go, sometimes the momentum is too strong and so that negative momentum just has to play itself out. But, we want you to know that nothing ever really goes wrong: that you can’t get it wrong; and you never get it done. And the reason you can’t get it wrong is because it is never done. There is always another opportunity to direct your thoughts and accomplish momentum in the direction of things that you do want”

This is why it is so important to get ahead of the energy before you find yourself neck deep in it. No amount of encouragement could help Austin this time because even though we have the potential to uplift and influence the energy of others through our own offering, we can never assert our desires onto others. Austin was devoted to negative focus on this day and he manifested it perfectly. It was not a pleasant experience for him, or those around him, but the truth is that it did serve a positive purpose. An entire day of contrast means that he created a perfect day of ease in his vibrational reality. There is always a positive counterpart to negative experience.
